Das gesamte China-Hotel wird in Sachen Wärme und Heißwasser aus dem Boden betrieben. 100 Meter tief ragen die Erdsonden in den Untergrund, die als Wärmetauscher eine Co2-freie Heizenergie zum Betrieb dieses Hauses liefern. Für 37.000 QM Raumfläche des China-Hotels umfasst die imposante Anlage im Keller 110 Sonden.

The entire China Hotel is for heat and hot water powered from the ground. Geothermal probes extend 100 metres into the ground, acting as heat exchangers to supply CO2-free heating energy for the operation of this building. The impressive system in the basement comprises 110 pipes for the 37,000 square metres of floor space in the China Hotel.
Für diese Investition im zweistelligen Millionenbereich hat der deutsche Steuerzahler keine Zuschüsse gegeben. Das liegt daran, dass die Eigentümer den Antrag erst nach dem Bau gestellt haben, so wie solche Dinge in China gehandhabt werden. Somit war die Frist für Zuschüsse aus Germany verstrichen. Schade, hat Vater Guoxiu Yang seinerzeit gedacht, aber das sei eben kulturelles Lehrgeld.
Die Vorteile der Geothermie sind die hohe Versorgungssicherheit und die Umweltverträglichkeit. Sie betreibt das Hotel konstant und wetterunabhängig mit erneuerbarer Wärme aus der Erde. Das ermöglicht niedrigere Betriebskosten durch den geringeren Primärbedarf und die Einsparung fossiler Brennstoffe.
Im China-Hotel Frankfurt wird der gesamte Spa mit einem Dutzend Behandlungszimmern, Damen- und Herrensauna, die Whirlpools und natürlich das größte Hotelschwimmbad der Stadt mit Geothermie geheizt. Dass sich die Gäste dank einer großflächigen Fußbodenheizung auf warmem Granitboden bewegen, ist der Investorenfamilie eine besonders schöne Vorstellung.
German taxpayers did not provide any subsidies for this investment, which ran into tens of millions. This is because the owners only submitted their application after construction had been completed, as is customary in China. This meant that the deadline for subsidies from Germany had passed. Father Guoxiu Yang thought at the time it was a disapointing, but however this was simply a cultural lesson to be learned.
The advantages of geothermal energy are its high security of supply and environmental compatibility. It powers the hotel constantly and independently of the weather with renewable heat from the earth. This enables lower operating costs due to reduced primary demand and savings in fossil fuels.
At the China Hotel Frankfurt, the entire spa, with a dozen treatment rooms, ladies‘ and gentlemen’s saunas, whirlpools and, of course, the largest hotel swimming pool in the city, is heated using geothermal energy.
The fact that guests walk on warm granite floors thanks to extensive underfloor heating is a particularly pleasing prospect for the family of investors.
